HOW TO BOOKSHOW TO BOOKS
The British Are Coming to Your Bookshelves!
We've got Anglomania which is to say we've gone totally gaga for all things British. Our three new books on the subject are bloody good. Britannia in Brief and Keep Calm and Carry On: Good Advice for Hard Times were both published in 2009. Lyall's eloquent book, The Anglo Files about how to live in London, came out in 2008. They're all perfect books to read with a good cuppa tea.

At $10, the petite Keep Calm and Carry On book is a gem of a gift. Its crown pattern endpapers are a charming decorative detail and every room should have a touch of red. Of course not all our books are British- or red. For example, see our Tiffany's Table Manners in Tiffany blue.

BOOKS FOR VIRGINIA WOOLF FANS

Virginia Woolf
Virginia Woolf (182-1941)
"Virginia did not like being looked at but Tomlin was very persuasive and somehow managed to get her to pose for the bust while she was sitting for a portrait by her sister Vanessa. The work proceded with difficulty and in the end was left unfinished."
- Quentin Bell
Our English Literature consists of books published by Persephone Press in London. Vogue called these books, "The answer to a present-giver's prayers."

Published by a very special English press "to appeal to busy women who rarely have time to spend in ever-larger bookshops." Imported by Decorative Things.

Each paperback book has a dove grey cover. But inside there are distinctive endpapers and matching bookmarks whose designs are taken from vintage textiles and drawings.

BOOKS FOR HOME DECOR

As the great American decorator Billy Baldwin said, "There isn't a room in the house, including the bathroom, where books aren't first-class decoration." We know you can't judge a book by its cover but some books do look better than others in the library.
