Keep Calm and Carry On, an Inspiring WWII Message
During WWII in London, King George VI, aka Bertie, and his wife, Elizabeth, opted to be calm and stay at home in Buckingham Palace to inspire Londoners to keep calm and carry on. When the Palace was bombed and they narrowly avoided death, the Queen famously said, “Now I can look the people in the East End in the face.”
We're sure the King and Queen would have understood why we all find the Keep Calm and Carry On graphic inspiring today and want to put it on tote bags, and everything else.
King George's sister-in-law, The Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson, was not welcome at the Palace but what style she had! Her bag collection was more of the Louis Vuitton variety. But hey, she probably never needed a tote bag for books, or diapers, yoga clothes, etc. - all that other stuff we carry in our canvas tote bags. | |
