Serving trays for home entertaining and decorative accessories

The ikat fabric we've used is a reproduction of an antique textile in the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation Collection. Made in the US by Decorative Things. Decorative Things has made serving trays for decades. Our serving trays have been featured in many magazines like Town & Country, Domino, Real Simple and many many others. The signature of our serving trays is laminated fabric. The fabric makes our serving trays decorative accessories as well as utilitarian objects. They are wonderful for home entertaining.

One of our favorite decorating and entertaining experts, Agnes Jekyll, was particularly fond of serving trays. In her book, "Kitchen Essays," she wrote, "Remember that the whole tone of the day can be set into a happy major key instead of into a mournful one by the mere aspect of the breakfast tray."

We feel the same way Agnes did about serving trays. Whether you use serving trays for holidays, everyday home entertaining or view them as decorative home decor they can be upliftng for you or your guests. Our plastic serving trays make great TV trays, lap trays, bed trays, buffet trays or breakfast trays. They are lightweight but sturdy and totally decorative.

Agnes Jekyll talks about "the technique of tray meals." It's as charming a phrase now as it was when she wrote the essay called "Tray Food" about decorative serving trays and their uses in 1922.

There are a lot of famous bed tray users. If you visit the War Museum in London, you will see Churchill's bed tray. He used to have breakfast in bed and plan the day's maneuveurs on a bed tray on his lap.

Another famous serving tray user was Diana Vreeland who was said to have oatmeal every morning on her breakfast tray. I can just picture her reading Women's Wear Daily with a breakfast tray on her lap.

Whatever your serving tray needs are, we hope you will select one of our decorative serving trays to help you fulfill them. We think one can never have too many serving trays.
