Bamboo Mirror FramesDorothy Draper, (1889-1969) author of “Decorating is Fun!” and “How To Be Your Own Decorator” once said, “The more mirror minded you become, the more your house will reflect a shining charm!” Bamboo mirrors are charming home decor for men or women.
Not too frilly, not too tailored, a bamboo mirror is always in style. A bamboo frame makes a mirror into something that is decorative but understated. Our bamboo mirror frame is lacquered with a slightly distressed finish that shows the surface of the bamboo.

Decorative Mirrors
From the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles to Snow White, decorative mirrors have a magical quality. In his book, Billy Baldwin Decorates, Billy Baldwin, (1903-1984), famous for doing homes for the likes of Cole Porter, writes: “Mirror is mysterious. In large shimmering sheets it can change the shape and size of a room. In small flashes, it can catch the sparkle of light the way a jewel catches the sun. Mirror is by nature glamorous and gay.”
Baldwin also wrote, “Framed mirrors, of course are beautiful anywhere.” And, “Over a mantel, I usually prefer a mirror to a painting.”
Dorothy Draper wrote a catalogue for a decorative mirror company in which she served up “Seventy-Seven Recipes for Using Mirrors in Today’s Living.” In it Draper wrote,
“Mirrors have come to mean much more than the original ‘looking glass.’ They are now a part of the decorative scheme of a modern home. By using them, there are no dark, gloomy corners, no drab caverns for halls. There can be a feeling of light, air, space.” |  |

Decorators use decorative mirrors in lots of different ways but they almost all use them for decorative home decor in one way or the other. Decorative mirrors are something you use everyday. A bamboo mirror frame makes mirrors as decorative as a painting. Decorative home decor always includes mirrors. You can use decorative mirrors in the bathroom, bedroom, mudroom - anywhere you need to be able to get a quick glance at yourself or just add a little decorative home decor. |
| Albert Hadley knows a good mirror when he sees one. His retirement sale at Sotheby’s was full of wonderful decorative mirrors. They sold for a lot partly due to provenance.
None of them seemed that precious. “Too too” was not Hadley’s style. He just has a great eye for decorative accessories that are useful and attractive. |  |
