Decorative Pillows with Dogs
Our decorative pillows with bulldogs are inspired by designer Mario Buatta. At a lecture on decorating he said that putting pictures of real flowers in home decor was like putting real flowers in a house and he said the same was true for dog paintings and other decorative accessories with dog motifs.
For a NYC Kips Bay showhouse, Buatta used a lot of decorative pillows with dogs in a sitting room to create what he called an “homage to dogs.” He scattered classic
dog and animal prints throughout the room, including lots of decorative pillows with dogs on them. Here’s a photo of the room decor with lots of decorative pillows.
Interestingly, Mario Buatta does not own a dog. He says that because he lives in an apartment, he does not think it would be fair to the dog or to his chintz covered furniture.” Your own dog may appreciate the company of this decorative pillow. And if you love dogs but don’t have one, these decorative pillows may be the answer. Here’s what WIKIPEDIA says about bulldogs:
“Despite their famous "sourmug" expression, bulldogs are generally docile, friendly and gregarious but occasionally willful. Breeders have worked to breed aggression out of the breed, and as such the dog is known to be of generally good temperament. Bulldogs can be so attached to home and family that they will not venture out of the yard without a human companion. Due to their friendly nature bulldogs are known for getting along well with children, other dogs and pets.”
