Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit Story


Beatrix Potter grew up in London but the Potter family went to the Lake District every summer. As an adult, Beatrix Potter decided to live on her own farm in the Lake District called Sawry. Fortunately, Beatrix Potter was one of the first land conservationists. Beatrix Potter supported farming and she gave thousands of acres of land in the Lake Distict of England to the National Trust when she died. All those Beatrix Potter books made Miss Potter a fortune which she gave back to the Lake District commmunity she loved.

The Renee Zellweger movie, Miss Potter, inspired us read more about Beatrix Potter. In that process we found a charming fictional book based on Beatrix Potter's life called The Tale of Hilltop Farm. It was a best seller in England where Beatrix Potter is much loved. Here's the blurb from the book jacket:
