About Decorative Things.com
Fabric Designer at Work
“Buying is a creative job, not a passive one.”
“There’s no fun like work.”
“Develop imagination, throw away routine.”
-Gordon Selfridge, Founder, Selfridges, UK
Decorative Things was founded in 1988, before online home decor stores existed. In the earlier years of the business, we designed and manufactured decorative accessories for the home and sold them to retailers (like Barneys, Bergdorfs, Ralph Lauren, Burberrys, The Metropolitan Museum and thousands of Mom and Pops). Now, we still manufacture most of the products we sell but we’ve become a retailer by launching decorativethings.com.
We specialize in unique home decor that fits your lifestyle from bathroom decor, and bedroom decor, to kitchen decor as well as party supplies and party decorations, but you will find lots of other decorative things we've come across in our travels.
2016 was our sixth Christmas as a full-fledged online retailer. Our fantastic customer service team enjoys interfacing directly with customers all day, and sometimes night, via email or on the phone. We love how fast we can react to a customer's needs.
Since we manufacture most of our home decor accessories right here in the USA, we offer many custom items. For example, we don’t just offer shower curtains, we make them in any length from long to extra long shower curtains. We sell many ready made decorative throw pillows, and upon request we will make you a custom throw pillow out of any of our decorative fabrics or yours. In addition to an elegant selection of paper hand towels we sell personalized personalized hand towels and many more fabulous party decorations and party supplies like Caspari paper plates and napkins and unique place cards.
We manufacture and sell a wide range of inspirational Keep Calm and Carry On gifts and decorative accessories, which we manufacture or import from Great Britain. We try to keep this British WWII slogan top of mind when things get hectic around here.
Keep Calm and Carry On whatever you are dealing with. I know it's not always easy. Life can be bittersweet. I hope our decorative accessories make you smile. A diy home decor project can be good therapy like the knitted flowers below that were recently exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Stay in touch. I’m so pleased to meet you.
